This privacy policy (this “Policy“) is intended to provide you with information about how we handle personal data that we may collect from you (i) when you use the internet sites, applications, and online services (the “Site”) operated by, controlled by, or affiliated with Get Engaged Media LLC, and certain subsidiaries, affiliates, and entities that it controls (collectively, “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”); or (ii) through your other interactions with us; and that we may otherwise collect and/or process in connection with our business or in providing services to our clients.

Please take time to read the practices described in this Policy and any updates that may be posted here from time to time. To remain aware of changes, you should review this Policy periodically. Updates will be identified by the “Last Updated” date listed above. This Policy applies to our use of personal data we obtain about you, whether directly from you or from a third party.
We may update this Policy periodically. The then-current version of the Policy will control our collection, use, and disclosure of information about you. If we make material changes to this Policy, we will provide notice by email or by posting a notice on the Service before the changes take effect. If you continue to access or use the Service after those changes become effective, you acknowledge the revised Policy.

1. Data We Collect
We may collect personal data from you in a variety of ways. Personal data or personal information means information, or a combination of information, that can reasonably be used to identify a living individual, directly or indirectly (for example, your name, phone number, address, email address, social media handles, IP address, and other analytics data). We collect personal data that you choose to provide to us, including your name, email address, and any other personal data you elect to share, such as when you submit an inquiry through the Site or interact with us on social media platforms. This may include certain personal data that you provide or submit to us or to our service providers in connection with our live or digital events, surveys, newsletters, and other related advertising materials or opportunities. If you apply for employment with us, whether through the Site or otherwise, we will collect and process your personal data in connection with your application and future recruiting efforts.

When you access and use the Site, our technology and tools may automatically collect and log certain data about your use of and interactions with the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, the make and model of the device used to view the Site, unique device identifiers, the referring webpage, pages visited, actions taken on the Site, and search terms. In general, this information does not identify you as an individual; however, to the extent this information identifies or can be used to identify you specifically, we will treat it as personal data in accordance with this Policy. We also use various tracking technologies, such as cookies and pixel tags, to collect data about you through your use of and access to the Site. Cookies are small data files stored on your browser, hard drive, or device memory by websites you visit, applications you use, or advertisements you view. Pixel tags are small electronic images placed on websites that transmit information about your visits to the Site or other websites. These technologies collect data that may help us improve the Site and your experience on the Site.

We may collect personal data about you indirectly from publicly available sources, social media websites, and other third parties. For example, we may collect personal data indirectly to perform services for our clients by compiling influencer details and other information to help us curate talent or develop guest lists, or we may capture your image if you attend our events.

Certain content on the Site may be provided by third-party content providers and may use cookies, pixel tags, or similar tracking technologies to automatically collect data about you, both on the Site and across the internet. In certain areas of our Site, we also use third-party tracking technologies from social media platforms, including pixels provided by Facebook, Google, and/or LinkedIn, to help us reach you with targeted advertising or for other marketing purposes.

Those third parties’ privacy policies govern their collection and use of data and the technologies they provide. You are responsible for reviewing the terms of use and privacy policies of those third parties.

2. How We Use Collected Data
We may use data to: (a) Support the administration and operation of the Site and provide you with an efficient, meaningful, and customized experience; (b) Satisfy our obligations relating to the reason you voluntarily provided the data, such as responding to an inquiry or evaluating a job application; (c) Enable you to use certain features of the Site; (d) Enhance the Site or our products, events, and services and for other business or commercial purposes; (e) Improve your experience on the Site, such as by troubleshooting technical issues or storing your preferences; (f) Inform you about changes to the Site, including this Policy; (g) Perform services for our clients; (h) Engage you to provide services for us or on behalf of our clients; (i) Contact you about our events; (j) Carry out any other purpose described to you when the data was collected; and (k) Carry out any other purpose with your consent or as permitted by law.

We may also use data for marketing purposes to: (a) Send you additional information about products, events, and services from Company by email or through advertising on various social media platforms or websites, whether desktop or mobile, that you may visit; and (b) Create, improve, and target promotional messaging to you and others through retargeting, online behavioral advertising, and social media platform tools used to advertise our services.

3. Third-Party Sites
When you use the Site, you may directly or indirectly access other websites or services, including those of our service providers, business partners, and other third parties, that we do not own or control. Those third parties’ privacy policies govern their collection and use of data. You are responsible for reviewing the terms of use and privacy policies of those third parties.

Please note that if you apply for a job with us through our job application portal, the privacy policy of our job applicant processing partner may also apply to the information you submit with your application.

4. How We Share Collected Data
We may share the data we collect as follows: (a) With our current and future parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, and other companies under common control and ownership; (b) With service providers that perform services for us, such as email and mobile marketing, analytics, and web hosting; (c) With social media platforms or advertising networks; (d) With our sponsors or event partners in connection with certain ticketed events; (e) To comply with a court order or other legal obligation, enforce the Site terms of use, and protect the rights, property, or safety of our users and other third parties; (f) With government or law enforcement officials or private parties, including our legal or other professional advisors, as we determine in our sole and absolute discretion is necessary or appropriate to respond to claims or comply with legal processes, laws, regulations, or ordinances, or to prevent or stop illegal, unethical, or actionable activity; (g) With our professional services organizations, such as auditors and law firms; (h) In connection with, or during negotiations concerning, any merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or substantially all of our business or assets; and (i) With your consent or at your direction.

5. Transfer of Collected Data
The Site is operated in the United States. If you are located in another jurisdiction, please understand that the data we collect will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States. By using the Site and/or providing any data to us, you consent to the transfer, processing, and storage of your data in the United States, a jurisdiction whose privacy laws may not be as comprehensive as those in the country where you are located.

6. Data Security
We apply commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to help secure and protect the data in our possession. However, no internet transmission of data is completely secure, and no security measure is impenetrable. Accordingly, although we take steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee the security of the data we collect from you or the security of our servers or the Site.

7. Retention of Data
We keep data only for as long as necessary for the purpose(s) for which it was originally collected. Please note that we may retain your data for longer periods when necessary to comply with our legal obligations or respond to governmental authorities.

8. Children and Parents
We value children’s privacy. We do not direct the Site to, or knowingly or intentionally collect personal data from, children under 13 years old. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you are either at least 18 years old or are using the Site under the supervision of a parent or guardian. If you are under 13 years old, you may not use the Site. If you learn that your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, please email us at privacy@getengagedmedia.com.

9. Our “Do Not Track” Practices
Some websites offer “do not track” features that let you indicate that you do not want to be tracked. We do not currently respond to those signals or to similar mechanisms sent by web browsers.

10. Your Choices Regarding Data
If you no longer want us to use your collected data in the manner described above, please submit a request to privacy@getengagedmedia.com.

If you no longer want to receive communications from Company, please follow the instructions in the emails to opt out of receiving those messages in the future or submit a request to privacy@getengagedmedia.com.

You may remove or reject cookies by changing your browser settings, which may opt you out of certain Site features and the Site’s automatic collection of certain data. These tracking technology opt-out tools are specific to each device and browser, so you must repeat the opt-out process on each of your devices and browsers. Please note that removing or rejecting cookies may affect how the Site functions.

You may also remove certain tracking technologies and opt out of certain online behavioral advertising messages by using the opt-out tools provided by the Digital Advertising Alliance (Tools Made For You and WebChoices) and the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI Opt-Out Tools).

You may change your advertising preferences on various social media websites through the Settings section of the applicable platform. You may adjust the types of Facebook ads you receive on Facebook, the types of LinkedIn ads you receive on LinkedIn, and the types of Google ads you receive on Google.

11. California Privacy Policy
If you reside in California, the following California policies (the “California Policies”) supplement the information above with additional disclosures required by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended from time to time (“CCPA”), and any other applicable California privacy laws that apply only to California residents. Terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in the California Policies. If the information in this Policy and the California Policies differs, the California Policies will control.

  • I. Under the CCPA, “Personal Information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, to a particular consumer or household.
  • II.We may collect, and may have collected during the last 12 months, the following categories of Personal Information, as defined in the CCPA: (a) Identifiers; (b) Personal information categories listed in the California Customer Records statute (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)); (c) Protected classification characteristics under California or federal law; (d) Commercial information; (e) Online activity; internet or other electronic network activity information; (f) Professional or employment-related information; (g) Non-public education information (under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (20 U.S.C. Section 1232g, 34 C.F.R. Part 99)); and (h) Inferences drawn from any of the information.
  • III.We may use and disclose Personal Information for the business and commercial purposes described in this Policy.
  • IV.We do not sell, and will not sell, your Personal Information.
  • V.The CCPA grants California residents certain rights concerning their Personal Information. To exercise any of those rights, please submit a request to us by email at privacy@getengagedmedia.com.

12. Users Outside the United States
Our Site is hosted in the United States. If you access our Site from the European Union or any other region whose laws or regulations governing personal data collection, use, and disclosure differ from United States laws, please note that your personal data will be processed in the United States and not in your home country. We will take all steps necessary to ensure that your information is adequately protected and processed in accordance with this Policy. You consent to these cross-border transfers of your information.
